So I was on my way home from the convenience store when I was severely inconvenienced by the feeling of..."oh god cars not stopping." My brakes were fine on the way there but for some reason they took a shit on the way back to my buddies. The only symptom I have is that it feels like there is a brick stuck underneath the pedal. I've already check the obvious things. There wasn't a brick (or anything else) under the pedal. I also had plenty of fluid in the res. I found this thread from about a yr ago and I'm gonna check it out. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/problem-diagnosis/225607-stiff-brake-pedal.html Because my car is not with me I would like to get a list of things to check. Any help is much appreciated!!!

You called (((MAS)))

Be sure to check:
1. Brake fluid
2. Brake lines
3. Brake pedal assembly for leaks (inside the car)
4. Brake Pads and assembly replace in necessary
Note:
when replacing your brakes be sure to replace with quality brake pads
and be sure to used a c-clamp to release the pressure from brakes, also be sure
to drain the fluid and refill with new, pump the brakes before driving...

I was thinking booster. I've seen a couple of threads that point to this. Thanks for the help. Now I just need a ride to my car...LOL

Check to make sure the booster vacuum hose is still attached. I also ran across a situation similar but the car had been sitting for a while with the vacuum hose disconnected. Brakes worked fine for a few weeks but then did the same as yours. What had happened was that a mud dobber had built a nest in the hose. Well, it eventually came apart and a larvae blocked the orifice of the check valve in the booster hose, which in turn, successfully disabled the power assist function.
