throughout the entire time ive had my 2g talon, for the most part under normal driving my brakes have worked fine. but, every time i have to slam on my brakes, even from normal speeds like 30, it gets really really scary. there have been countless times where ive come within a couple of inches of some really bad rear endage . whenever i slam on my brakes, it doesnt seem to have much of an effect. they seem really really soft and it definetly doesnt feel like your slamming on the brakes, it feels like your coming to a slow and steady stop. this is kindof a hard thing to describe but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and i wanna know what i can do. like i said, the brakes work great under normal conditions, not when i slam on he brakes. it seems to me that the tires should atleast be screeching or something... thanks for your help, im scared as hell of crashing my baby :(

Well first off, slow the crap down, especially when there are people in front of you. By the sounds of it, you have a small leak in your system somewhere. So small that under normal circumstances it doesn't cause any problem, but when put excessive pressure on the brakes it opens up.
I had a similar problem with my 1g. Under normal operation they worked fine, but I had to stomp on them once and they barely did anything. I pushed most of the fluid out of the system right under the reservoir.

Have you checked the pads? I had a similar problem with one of my cars. It stopped fine in all conditions accept heavy breaking. Turns out the pads were long gone and I was braking on metal. It was just so soft it didn't squeal. I didn't figure it out until my calipers exploded. OMG

Not a bad idea to check out, make sure things are fine there. Make sure your rotors aren't glazed at all as well

don't slam on the brakes

bleed the system

perhaps get some new brake pads. i was using the $15 Albany/Autozone specials, but then switched to metal masters. i could definitely tell the difference

hmm.... sounds like a plan. thanks for the input. by the way, i dont drive like a woman (dont tell my girlfriend i said that :shhh: ) but sh*t happens like that sometimes. many of the times ive had to slam on the brakes was when i got dumbstruck looking at some nice car. but im sure you all know how that is :p

my brakes do the same thing ive almost been in 2 wrecks just because of my sorry brakes, they work finr for normal pressure but when u stomp them they hardly even slow me down at all

that is exactly whats happening. i hate to say i still havent gotten around to checking anything out yet....
