So as i clean up my car to fix all the issues from the previous owner I noticed that at some point the batter had grounded out on the hood. I decided that I was going to move my battery to the trunk of the car. I know this is nothing new but here is how I did my relocation.
I have seen people do this many ways but i have found on the four cars i have done this on that this works good and allows stuff to be moved or unhooked very quickly
What i used for this project:
5/8 grommet with 4 gauge opening
4 gauge 176 strand copper wire
distrabution block
3/8 bolt
some washers and random bolts (im addicted to stainless)
Here is the finished positive side of the battery. Eventually a full wire tuck is being done so this will be moved into the glove box.
I drilled a 5/8 hole thru the firewall near the drain hole for the blower motor and installed the grommet. I then pulled enough of the 4 gauge thru to reach where i mounted the distribution block. From the block I ran a 4 gauge lead to the starter and the Fuse box.
With this now moved down here i have gained about an extra cubic foot of space and have a direct spot to tap into to test for voltage drop or if i put a voltage gauge in.
