Hey guys. Some of you may have noticed that I kind of just dissapeared off the forums a little while ago. Well, something happened that really knocked the wind out of my "car modding" drive. Me and a friend with a modified car were driving home, and going fairly fast(probably about 15 over). a cop saw us, thought we were "drag racing"(which we werent, but hey 2 modded cars speeding, what else could we be doing right? ) pulled us over and arrested us both. This really killed me because we were definitely not racing, but there wasnt much i could do about it. im one of those people that will worry about something so this just ate me up inside. I kept thinking how i was gonna lose my license, and that made me kind of shy away from my car. I was trying to prepare myself so that it didnt hurt as much if i did end up losing my license. The cops had said since we cooperated they would ask for just court supervision and a fine. I wasnt sure if they would come through with what they said though(they were pretty cool besides the whole arresting part ). they didnt really have any evidence but i was afraid that if i tried to fight it that i might get a worse punishment then if they did infact come through with there promise. so the court date came around, and they came through. i got some court supervision, a fine and some driving school and this will be deleted off my record after the supervision is up. Im extremely happy and relieved for this.

Well i still didnt touch my car for about a week after the court date, but the other day i had to do some maintnence and it get my modding blood pumping again .

So I apologize to everyone for not being on here to help you guys. i have been answering PM's but ive taken a while to do that too. But my drive is back, and i should be on here quite regularly now. I will also be leaving for college in about 2 weeks to start studying for a Bachelor degree in automotive. I cant wait for this and this will allow me to help you guys even more. So im sorry for my absence, but im back

Definately have been needing your advice, I blew my rings on my 1st motor, and am in the process of a rebuild right now.

Good to have you back, and if you ever find yourself in a situation like that again, the best thing to do is not to admit to anything, the cops might start asking you (or the person you were "racing") quetions like "So where do you normally go out to do this?" or my favorite "So how fast have you gotten this baby up to?" My friends answer to this was "Well officer since I haven't been to the track yet, my top speed has been oh right around 60mph, but until I get to the track, I don't think I'll be going much faster than that."

If you hire a lawyer to fight the case, they will most likely be able to get the charges dropped (especially if they specialize in traffic cases), city lawyers usually charge around $400 for reckless driving cases.

There is also prepaid legal services, if you find that you get pulled over a lot for just regular speeding or in situations like you were just in, paying a lawyer $20/month to show up whenever you need him is golden. Sometimes when a cop sees the prepaid legal services sticker on your car, they might let you off. (depending on the infraction, and the evidence they have behind it.)

The law in WA basically says that racing is in a exibition or challenge between two vehicles no matter even if your not speeding over the speed limit.

The reason why Chris is a wiseman is because he showed the average 2GNT owner( high school or college student who is low on funds) how to put some more power under the hood of our cars, step by step and answer all of our Pm while you look down upon us for not having 10,000 dollars to spend on our 2GNT. If it wasn't for his write-up I wouldn't be turbo right now. Welcome back Chris.

I suggested Chris be a wiseman as well as a few others. It was based on not only the valuable information he had been providing over a number of months but also the willingness to provide accurate information or ask for the help of more experienced members in the event that he didn't know himself. If you have any more questions about why he has the respect of me and the other wisemen and moderators then perhaps a PM to each of us OR a bring it up in the Feedback forum.

If you can't acheive the outcome you desire in those venues then feel free to direct your concerns to the nearest brick wall.
