My AC Tensioner pulley is grinding in to my timing belt case. Every time I tighten the belt to fix the problem it goes gback to grinding in to the case with in the next couple of days.

Has any one had this problem or do you know what i should do to fix it?

Thanks

Make sure all of the bolts that hold the plastic timing belt cover to the motor are installed. If some of them have popped out, the cover could bow out and rub the pulley.

Almost every timing belt cover I have seen has had a little wear on it from the pulley, but if its bad enough to be audible for days on end I would start to worry about it.

it almost looks like the belt pulls the pulley in to the timing case after a few days.

Does any one else have any sug.?

Thanks

The bearing that the pulley rolls on could be shot. Take the belt tension off and rock the tensioner pulley forward and backwards. If there is alot of slop AROUND a 1/4 inch of play in the pulley I would replace it. Also check that the bolts are tight that hold the tensioner and tensioner bracket on. And I also agree with above^ make sure you have the right size bolts in their own holes on the cover, a Chiltons manual gives you a break down of the sizes and their proper posistions. :talon:

The pulley seems to be working good and the bolts and tight and in the timing cover.
