Just bought the car today. It is currently completly stock, but not for long. I gotta figure out a few things first and get this thing running reliably. then the fun will start.

sorry i havent been keeping up with my build on here at all... but im gonna try to do better from now on. heres a quick update and a couple pics of what i did today. changed the brake rotors calipers and lines all around. went from the stock 1g front brakes to the newer 2 piston calipers and slightly bigger rotors. in the rear i used 1g fwd calipers slightly modified to fit my awd. drilled/slotted rotors, pads, and braided ss lines bought from stoptech.

heres the before and after pics (of just one of the four corners).

What did you end up using for front calipers? I'm thinking about doing the same but I already have 1g SS brake lines, so I'm trying to avoid the 2g banjo fitting.

I used 2g front calipers which with everything I've read, the banjo bolts are required apparently. I didn't try to make it work with straight fittings, so I can't say for sure they wouldnt be a problem unfortunately.

Damn, that looks even cleaner than mine was when I got it. Killer find. How many miles on it?
Thank you! I picked this up from the original owner with only 111k miles on it! But what I didn't know back then, was that the owner thought he was a mechanic. But that guy should never touch a wrench again... I'm still finding things that were done wrong and/or half a**ed by him almost a year later! Lol

Sadly this is the story of most DSMs, and why they get a bad wrap.

After you fix literally everything done wrong they’re amazing and reliable cars.

At least it's nothing a little wrench time can't fix? Looks like the paint and interior are pristine though, so you have that going for you.
yeah your right... the previous owner said he kept it garaged for most of its life but his wife ended up telling me that wasnt true LOL. still the paint & interior are in pretty good shape for being more then 30 years old!

The item My 91 TSi AWD Turbo has been updated:

A lot has been happening to my talon since i got it almost 2 years ago. and ive done a horrile job keeping the build thread updated... but today i updated it with all the mods and upgrades ive done so far to it, as well as a few things "coming soon" that i havent installed yet but will be doing so soon. I also recently added a few new pics of how the car looks now days. Its much better then looking now compared to back when i bought it, in my opinion. its crazy to me how much new wheels & tires can change the looks of a car for the better...
