My friend started doing his wheels on his Syclone and I called him over to show me how its done. So we start out with my TB Elbow. Sand out all the imperfections and end up at wet sanding 2000 grit. I'm thinking that this is a failure. Then he takes Mothers Mag Polish to it, and I saw the light.... Reflecting off the shinny mirror finish of the Elbow! So I finish the rest and what do you know, it matches my Chrome Buscher upper IC Pipe. Threw some new T bolt Clamps since they look better then regular hose clamps. WOW! I had to put my head back on just to see how it looks in the car.

My main plan was, I'm painting the block and the head Glossy Black, The Flanges on the Tubular T3 Manifold are going to be painted flat black with the pipes polished, And the valve cover is going to be polished with red letters.

That is a good job, im in the process of polishing some of my engine bay. How long did it take you?

It actually took a couple hours just to sand out all the imperfections of the Peice. Like where the cast was melted together, that lil rib took some time, and then on the other side had some deep scratches. We also took out the 60 on the top, and the 2 on the bottom of it. After we were done with 150grit, we used two 3"x3" square piece of all the other grits following to 2000 which we wet sanded 2000. The actual polish part only took 30 minutes, cause it works best if you do little sections at a time. You know your done when the gel takes forever to turn black, or even gray.

The Valve cover should be easy since I'm going to use tools. First I'm going to use aircraft paint stripper on it to get every inch of paint off... then I have a small Polishing sander that I will attatch little peices of sand paper to, to get out imperfections. When I'm done polishing and move onto the letter area, I will use a dremel to polish around and inside the letters. The Valve cover should be EASY! Since its entire surface is already soft metal.

Word of advice, when your polishing, you need massive patience. Even when your wet sanding 2000... your going to be thinking, "WTF! This isn't going to look right", Your going to get discouraged, I was... I had a headache and was soo tired of sanding, but the second that Mothers Mag/Aluminum Polish touched it, I got extremely happy. I didn't even finish it when all my friends saw it, I left it with one spot of mirror finish and the rest all machined look. Kept showing it off to everyone. Then when everyone left, I finally finished it.

So Do NOT Get Discouraged, It is Time Consuming, But WORTH IT!

Also my friend who showed me how, is going to help me polish everything off of the Head/Block. Next is this 1GNT Water Tube and the Hard Radiator Hose! :D He wants my TB Done, Fuel Rail, CAS, Water Neck, and pretty much anything he can find, done. Sander and Dremel will be used LOL.

Take it to a powdercoating place so you can get it sprayed with clear otherwise all that work with deteriorate. Trust me almost makes me cry how my polished beauty dissapeared.
