I recently got a 1997 eclipse gs 420a turbo. It's running a ms2 on v3.0 board built by symtech and has a tach output according to sticker on back of it. The only open wire coming out of Ecu was the green/white, iac2a, as it's not running a idle valve. So I wired that into the white wire coming out of stock cluster and setup in tuner studio and it doesn't work at all. According to all my research that is all that is needed to make it work. Can anyone verify or any any insight on how I can test it? Thanks.

Have you opened up the Ms to see how it's wired internally?

My Ms3x is running the tach on the stock cluster beautifully, but I am also using the output on the ms3x card.

What do your settings look like in tunerstudio?

Mine are
Tach output enabled: ON
Output on: (select your output channel)
Fixed or variable: FIXED
Speed: NORMAL

Same settings as yours with iac2 selected. Here's a pic of inside.

See in the manual it specifies you have to have several jumpers installed. One for instance is js0 to iac1a. I look at a v3.0 board layout and its all resistors, diodes, etc, with nothing matching the specified terminals.

The underside of the board will have those jumpers. I didn't get a chance last night to look into detail at your pics but I think they are all of the top side.
Tach out, JS0-3, ect are all marked on the underside.

Have you looked at section 3.5.5 on the ms2 v3 manual? I would start there and make sure the connections are correct per the schematic.

The other way you could test it is with a multi meter to see if that pin is putting out voltage while the car is running.

Here's a pic of the underside of mine. The 4 grouped yellow wires are js0-3. I have mine setup to run the iac.

Yea I have studied the manual. I've never looked at that side. I'll have to check it out tonight. Thanks for the help and pic!

Here is the underside. I do not have the correct jumpers so I'm not sure how to run the tach output as its marked from symtech as being one of the outputs. Here's pics of what I have.

In the diagram in section 3.5.5, the 'from MS2' is the lead that comes from the IAC2A.

If you wanted to switch it to run an IAC you could as there are other pins you can use. It would just be set up in tunerstudio.

Yea I've read that several times. The issue is that I already have a tach output setup along with boost and launch. So it had to be setup a different way rather than the jumpers mentioned in 3.5.4.3. I more so need to find a way to test which is which etc. I did pickup a Jimstim V1.5 last night used. It only came with one jumper wire. Reading through the manual for that I found the tach signal section. This is my first time messing with circuit boards and such and having a tough time following it. Im sure i have a square wave signal but the instructions are not very clear to me on how to setup that jimstim. I want to get the tach working and also boost and launch control but would like to verify the correct output pins before hand if at all possible. Thanks for the help.
