Washington,
Hi All,

I want to put a push fan behind the ssac fmic facing (pushing) towards the ac condenser pushing air into the engine bay towards the stock fans to help keep coolant temps down. I have two questions:

1. Will it be effective in bringing down the temp of my coolant if I mount it in front of the ac condensor?

2. Are the stock fans both pull fans?

thanks
meek

Sorry, I know this is old but checking in for an update. I was bored this weekend and did this with a 12 inch fan wired to a switch since I've been ruuning hot.

I also wrapped my exhaust and added wetter water and 80/20 water/coolant. I'll be testing it this week but was just curious if you tried it. I doesn't feel like much air is coming through the engine side of the radiator so I'm not too optomistic.

the reason why your running hot is because the fan in the front of the radiator.

It created turbulance and is blocking air from getting to the radiator due to it being in front. Fans dont do squat at speed over 45mph. I have a 10" and 12" slim fan on my car with no issue behind the radiator were they should be.

The reason I'm running hot is the ssac fmic in front of my car. Also, it looks like my 2 slimfans (mounted on the engine side) aren't doing as good of a job as shrouded fans would.

If I'm still too hot after this, I'm just going to find some stocker fans and be done with it.

I have the PR kit (same as yours but for a 1g) and I wouldn't get uber hot but I fabbed up a air deflector on the core support and that kicked major ass.

Its about getting clean air to the radiator.

You mean like a duct? I only get hot when idling or when the a/c is on so I'm not sure that'll fix it. I'm looking at the these high performance fans too - I've got cheap ebay fans now and I just may have to upgrade to spal high performance or maradyne.

You might have other issues. I've run slimline fans as pushers with no problem. But you have to make sure they're wired to run the proper direction so that they actually push air thru versus pushing air towards the front of the car. I'm in Florida and have had temps as low as 165 so yes, they will work.....but I wouldn't suggest putting them in front of the a/c condensor. Might work, but would be harder to get it thru the condensor, a gap, and then the radiator.

Just an update - bought a 12" perma-cool high performance fan from jegs and my car is running much cooler now. It still gets warm sometimes so I plan to buy another for the a/c side and wire it in with the other.
