Ok I have a 97 talon tsi that had a 95 eclipse engine in it. I just bought a 99 eclipse enging and dropped it in but I can't get all of the motor mounts lined up. I put the front tranny mount on then the back then the left and finally the right one won't fit. It is like half an inch off. First time I did it I put the right one in first and the left didn't line up so I took out Tue right to get the left in. Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong its rather frustrating

They are the same mounts that I took off of my old engine. I just swapped them over. And I could try to moisten them but idk. I managed to get the last bolt in on the right side but it isn't even close to being able to thread into the strut tower. It's like the entire engine and trans unit has to be pulled towards the right.

Put a jack under your transmission and lift it slowly to tilt the motor to the right until you can thread the bolt.

Tried it and it didn't help at all. I just tore the head off the new engine tho because on my first start it fired right up and oozed oil out by the water neck
