So i can go tomorrow to pick up my freshly machines block head and crank tomorrow morning.. but now im starting to feel like im done with this project..

Idn what to do, buy a new car? or finish this project up..

Well since your asking for motivation you already know what you wanna do. You just need a little words of incouragement. Well first you said it its a project and that means there might be some hicups on the way. With that said think of how you will feel when your done with this project. I'm sure you started this project for a reason use that to keep you going. And when your finished, look back and enjoy all that hard work. Good luck

Now that your getting the block back you will see progress. Dont give up on it! Just think about the feeling of being pulled back into your seat knowing you built it. Better, faster, stronger you have the technology!

Just go out there and finish it already. I haven't had a running driving dsm since Dec. 2005. I have had 1-3 in the drive way at all times since. I am literally waiting on inter cooler pipe to finish mine. Also just need to find the time to work on it. I probably have two solid days of work left. Then she will fire up. And hopefully drive.

Sell it all.... Go buy a cheap beater. Chances are you don't have the money to continue on with this project. Plus, just getting the block back does not mean anything. You have to put everything back together and double/triple check clearances and torque specs. Even after all of that you will still need to put everything back together into the car. Fluids and oil are going to cost you alot, then Misc bolts and trips to the Hardware store are going to cost you even more.. To top that off, as soon as everything is back up and running you could throw a bearing because you found out you did not check everything correctly... And then you find out that you put your pistons in backwards and then, the thought of tearing into this worthless car again goes through your head, confirming the very thought of you should have bought a running car from the beginning...

I would only continue if you meet the following criteria:

1. You are jobless and live at home
2. You don't have a GF
3. You have a garage with some type of Heat source
4. You have ample amounts of time
5. You have another Daily to make trips to the Hardware store
6. You have extra money burning holes in your pocket..

If you don't meet those then call it quits...

HAHahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha

Omg, that gives me the most inspiration to jsut sell mah dsm and go grab a wrx. or better, an mr2 turbo.

I think owning a fwd convertible is just getting to your head with all this cold and snow we are getting.

Just finish it man, that is if money is permitting that. I havent even got my stuff to the machinist yet, and im already pumped about doing my fresh rebuild. As soon as i decide on which pistons to go with, its on! haha. Im also from pittsburgh, but im building a 6-bolt. Good luck man.

some people may say you'll never be done, but really its up to the owner of the car. if your bored of it then give up. if you love to work on it and cant stop thinking of ideas for the car then you obviously want to keep on tuning it. But at the vary least help out the newbies on this sight with your knowledge if DSMs.

I just love gut ache of a nice long 3rd gear pull at 25 psi. I like taking my girl and her friends for rides and hear them scream, and tell me how much they want to puke. Driving by civics, s4's, contours, mustangs, camaros, and they know not to #### with you. I loved how funy and in depth turbo monkeys post was but please keep building.

This really ought to say, "When your finished, go ahead and start saving your pennies because in 2 months max you will be tearing the motor down again because that is what dsm do."

one. I would love to give the "two word" answer back to turbo monkey :hellyeah: but its a forum and ill keep it censored.

"To Turbo: Im a 18 year old living at my parents house, with a full time job.
I don't have a g/f but you better believe i got plenntttyyyyy of girls, My garage has a kerosene heater ready to roll, I got all the time in the world, I got tons of friends for lifts anywhere in the world i need to go, and lastly, 250 a week extra to spend on the engine.... :thumb: so please never post on my threads EVER again.. "

Im going to continue working on it.. i get about 250 a week to use on the engine from working so money aint the issue.. it just been 4 months and im not very patient. But i feel once i get my engine back tomorrow and start building things should go together. Thanks for the motivation guys!

Dang Turbo Monk3y !!! My Eclipse is running just fine and you just made me want to sell it !!! And I have
all of the above BUT the heat in my garage !!! Plus all the pieces to complete my AWD Spyder conversion.
But you just took all the wind out of my sails !!!!! :)

B

ps: finish it man.

I know what you mean man. trust me finish what you started and i know you will be happy that you did. plus what is better then a DSM besides an EVO thats worth not finishing it :)

Keep it going. Just be patient and take your time with it. You should have it done when the nice weather pops up.

LOL you have mere boltons if your profile is still correct. Your project hasnt even begun. An intake, catback, bov and boost gauge does not constitute as a "Finished" project, it constitutes as a stock car that sounds nice.

If you cant handle the heat at that level, then yes, please get another car and sell yours to someone that can. Its only going to get worse as you attempt at making real upgrades, however if you rebuild the motor correctly, thats one less thing you have to worry about. All cars get more unreliable the farther from stock they go, that is a fact.

Strap a 14b on , get some 550's, a 255lph pump and afpr, and DSMlink and start having real fun with the car, and learning shitloads while you are at it.

hey turbo monkey you should do this forum a favor and NEVER POST AGAIN!!! I have a job, I do live in a home LOL, I have a gf, I dont have a garage, I dont have ample amounts of time, I dont have another DD and I dont have extra money and I still rebuilt 22 cars in the last 8 years. And thomas911 his project HAS BEGUN. What part about he just got his block back from the machine shop didnt you get??? It might not be finished YET but HE HAS BEGUN so if you have NOTHING POSITIVE TO ADD then dont waste everyones time by posting rude and ignorant shit like that.
