I personally have not tried it. I work in a parts department at a car dealership and we promote the use of BG products. You didn' state why you were wanting to use the powerball for. I'm assuming because the light is fading in color on the lens? If so, theres a BG product called a Headlight restoration kit, part number ca875 that we use for discoloration. Heres a link...

BG Products, Inc.

let me know what you think :D

I used a kit that came with sanding disk to clean them and they look good but they are starting to yellow a little. The ad said that it will fix them or keep them from yellowing so I was wondering how it worked.

Ah, well sorry to hear that I couldn't help ya :D
On the other hand though, you get what you pay for. BG has great products :D

I've used mothers polish on my headlights without the ball it works but you have to do it like 3 times a year or atleast I have .It works freaking great though I used it with just a micro pad by hand though so i didn't smear it on my paint

I just use an orbital buffer and some paint polish and that seems to work for 3-4 months.

I use stove top cleaner for glass top stoves. Works like a dream and only have to do it like twice a year.

You have to put a UV resistant film on it to protect it like how they came brand new. When you restore them you clean up the scratches and pitting but you also remove the UV protective layer. Put that layer back on and you wouldn't have to repeat it often.

I was gonna try this out too. But has anyone cleared their headlights? By that I mean just like you do with paint, add a few coats of clear to make it shine. I wonder how that'd work. Sand them down with maybe 1000 grit, and spray them with some clear, real clear. Not rattle can crap.

2000 grit sand paper, and power steering fluid. wet sand it. then put a nice wax to seal up the plastic.

worked at advance auto parts for 4 years.. saw many headlights and lenses come back to life for four dollars as opposed to the twenty dollars.

also turtle wax rubbing compound also does somewhat of a good job.

Both of these are good options. Either a UV film like Lamin X or clear coat shot from a spray gun (not a can).

However, over time these will start to break down, just like the stock coating.

Yes but its better than not doing anything to them as they will haze over really quick. The sun out here in the AZ is cooking my headlights everyday. I've had to do them three times before I sourced out a sheet of this UV stuff. Its nice.

no matter what kit u use or anything u do its always gonna come back. if u want to keep them looking good here is a cheap in expensive way of doing it. go to walmart and buy mcguires plastix. it works great and keeps them clean. u will have to do it a few times of the year but owell do it when u wash ## car and it wont yellow on u.
