anyone have the link to modify the stock intake pipe? where you remove the tube inside? btw this mod is equivilant to aftermarket intake pipes correct?

You shouldnt bump threads it is against the rules , but to answer your question yes the 2g's have the the dump tube sticking way into the middle of the pipe you can cut it to make it nearly flush with the intake pipe, i cant say its equivilant to an aftermarket intake pipe as to how turbulant the air is coming into the turbo but i can say its a free mod and it does help.

vfaq.com <- they have almost everything you need to know i think every nooby should read over this site first.

hope this helps

easiest thing to do.

Mark the BOV return tube on the inside of the intake pipe. You should make a mark on the BOV tube where its flush with the inside of the intake pipe.

When you marked it you just take something thin/sharp and remove the glue around the BOV tube where it goes inside the tube. THat way you can pull the BOV tube out of the intake pipe.
Cut the BOV tube where you marked it and put it back in the intake pipe to see if its cut correctly. Trim it til its flush with the inside of the intake pipe.
Then just glue the BOV tube back in place. Done!

Or you could just get a piece of metal and bend it and put the filter on the end or buy an intake. Why waste you're time doing something with minimal turn around and even if it flows a small amount better it still looks bad in the end.

yep +1 for homemade or aftermarket, the price isn't "too" bad, plus you'll have something that looks better and flows better than stock.

The rubber intake pipe can also collapse under boost when they get old and worn out. Keep that in mind. Ive seen cars not boost to where they should and it was found out that the intake pipe was collapsing so the turbo couldnt suck in adaquate air.

You know, I already gave you this link in you last thread... 2g intake pipe free mod

Please read more, post less. :thumb:

Yes, this mod eliminates the restrictive dump tube. It will allow your stock "snorkel" hose to flow about as well as those aftermarket hard pipes.
