car was running a little funny so i went too hook up my data logger, its a m105 with mmcd, and i couldnt get it to read any thing. i tryed to scan for codes and it said ecu comm error. i have tred two cables both i have used with no problem with the same result. i reset the palm and reintalled mmcd and no change. is my ecu not working properly?

cables and connections are great. yes ive tried just with the key on and with the car running,

the issue that made me want get the logger hooked up is intermittent code 44 and the car just feels like its holding itself back. when the car pops a CEL it acts like its running on two cylinders then the light goes off and it "normal" again. iive heard that code 44 can also pop up when a ecu is on its way out the door.
