Missing Crossmember?

Alright so I was looking at the vfaq on how to tell if you have a six or seven bolt motor. The last picture shows a crossmember that starts at the front bumper area and goes down the drivers side to the back of the motor. My car does not have that crossmember...Well I I went out and glanced at the underside front of my car and it looks like there is a mounting hole there for it.. How important is it? Important enought to start looking for one?

Yes, you'll want to find and install one if you don't have one now.

Are you sure it isn't there? Your front roll stop (mount mount) actually bolts to it, so if you don't have the crossmember in place, then you also don't have a front roll stop.

I think he means one of the north and south bars?

Yeah, all 2G cars only have a single crossmember bar and it runs parallel with the car, connecting the subframe to the front core support.

Guess I should have looked at what his car was before assuming everyone on here has a 1g.

Wait... waat?

WTH is going on in that picture? That appears to be on the far-driver's side, not in the middle where the 2g crossmember goes. You sure that's the under-side of a 2g? The crossmember on a 2g goes from the front-center of the core support towards the passenger-side. Like others said, the front roll-stopper bolts to it. There's another plate behind it on the passenger side with 5 bolts in it... that's supposed to be there... but on my 2g 7-bolt, there's nothing on the driver's side like that.

That picture is of a 1G AWD.

Oh Ok it's a 1g pic haha my bad. so im probably good then cause I for sure have the one up front with the front Motor mount.

Oh and by the way if you were wondering I varified that I indeed have the 6 bolt motor like the seller said it had.

Now I need to figure out if it has a 1g or 2g head, i just want to know.
