Quick question, couldn't find anything online. Needs everyone's advice.
Should I install mishomoto radiator with mishomoto hoses (expensive) or should I go with punishment racing radiator and OEM radiator hoses( relatively cheaper) ? Why? Or any other advice will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks everyone

I dont know how much is the difference between the two radiators, but OEM hoses will work with any aftermarket radiator.

I have Ebay CXRacing radiator and its pretty good too.

Yeah I was also considering cxracing radiator but I never encountered that brand before + they are cheap and eBay so I get scared with that. But if there is people who have them, I would like to hear how they are cooling and reliability wise. Thanks

Go with punishment, I ran one on my old car and loved it. I never 1 time had over heating issues and I beat the piss outta my car

The cxracing and punishment are the same cxracing makes them for punishment. I have the punishment in my car now. I have an over heating issue when the a/c is on but that maybe due to a blockage in the expansion valve. But when using the punishment kit if you get the fans cut off the connectors on the fans and pitch them in the trash I have melted all mine.

nuclear- I personaly never heard of a problem, where a clogged expansion valve is causing overheating problem. A bad expension valve will cause AC problems, such as no cooling, and high pressure in the low and high side. Maybe you mean your thermostat is messed up or clogged? Because that will affect the cooling? Maybe its your AC cooling fan dosent work, and when the condenser gets hot the engine cooling fan dosent have enough power to cool the car. Just trying to help

So does everyone think i have to go with punishment racing? Or what other options are out there??

The expansion valve has reduced flow. I belive the expansion vavle is causing additional heat to build up in the condensor. Casuing the radiator to heat soak. My over heat issue only occurs when I turn on the a/c. Or its becasue I am heat soaking the radiator due to front mount/ a/c condensor/ then radiator.

The cooling system is new (except heater core, which I plan to replace along with the expansion vavle and evaparator). I have tried 3 different thermostats.

Could be. What you can also try is, turn the AC on, and let the car run, take a garden hose and spray cold water on the condenser, see if the temp goes down... this way you'll know if the car is overheating due to a hot condenser.(be carefull not to overheat the car too much when you do that, i dont want to be held responsible ) :)

I have used a Mishimoto radiator. Its a good product, IMO.
I ended up getting Gates hoses. The ones I got from the local parts store never seemed to fit right.

I've had a few setups- stock with stock hoses (obviously), cx racing with stock hoses, and a mishomoto with mishomoto hoses. I have to say the cx racing was ok for the money but the mishomoto radiator's fit and finish is much nicer. Cooling is the same in my opinion, and the aftermarket hoses do look alot better. I think if your just looking for a better radiator with a budget the cx racing is a nice way to go. i have not seen a punishment racing radiator set up but they do look alot like the cx racing models.

I have the x-line mishi radiator. It's expensive, but works. Regarding hoses, the no-name silicone hoses from import evolution are surprisingly good quality. I would strongly recommend them over others, as they are a lot cheaper and will do the job just as well.

Thanks but that is not nessicary I know its the condensor causing the issue. When it starts to run hot I shut off the a/c and the temps come back down with in a minute or two.

I'm using a mishimoto rad and hoses as well and love it. Everything works well and the fitment was perfect. I'm also using some eBay 12" fans and are working good as well. No overheating. Was thinking of swapping my rad hoses for some samco ones since they have more colors available.

Got new cxracing radiator on ebay for $80 dollars and I just bought napa radiator hoses for cheap. Good temps no issues. People make 1000hp with half core cxracing radiators. Oem radiator fan is the best IMO.

I have a Mishimoto radiator and Samco radiator hoses, love them both :)
