Ask Me,
Virginia
If I take off in 1st gear at full throttle the car pulls hard until it hits 5100 rpm and then it loses power/misfires severely and it backfires. The same may or may not happen in 2nd gear but never happens in higher gears.
Fuel cut is disabled.
Compression is perfect.
I just replaced the spark plug wires with NGK wires.
Plugs are NGK BPR7ES gapped at .028 (later gapped at .020 to see if that would fix it).
BLT with no boost leaks.
New Fuel Filter.
Warlboro 190lph with rewire.
Turbo is an E316g that is externally gated with a Tial WG.
Running 18psi on largest tial spring to keep it simple.
Open cutout pre-cat to keep it simple.
I have run all different types of fuel maps and timing maps (now running a 2G timing map with 11.0:1 AFR at 5100 rpm).
Cylinder 2/3 of the coil secondaries reads 15.5k RPM so a bit out of spec. The primary reads 1.2 ohms...so also a little bit out of spec but don't want to spend to find out I have the same problem.
The problem persists.
Any ideas what this might be?
Thanks
