I was driving down the freeway, and all of sudden I didn't make any boost and It took a lot of throttle just to keep the car at a constant speed. I thought I blew an intercooler hose. So I pulled over.

As I was pulling over to a stop, the engine died. I tried to start it back up, but the idle was lower and the engine was rocking back and forth very roughly. (Made worse that the engine mounts are worn). I had it towed back to my house.

I started up the car again, and checked all the connections to see if anything was loose. I then pulled each plug wire to see which cylinder was misfiring (I don't know how professional it is to do this, but oh well.) Anyways, when I took out the plug wires for cylinder 1 and 4, the engine died. But when i took out 2 and 3, the engine stayed the same (idle speed and roughness). So the problem is somehting to do with these two cylinders.

Well, I noticed that both cylinders use the same coil pack. But I also got shocked when I took out the wires (worn insulation LOL) So it is getting spark. Maybe It wasn't enough spark? I never was hit by a coil like that, but it wasn't too bad.

Where to start? Maybe...

Check spark plugs?
Get new spark plug wires?
Check compression?
Check voltage (batt and alt)?
Connections to Cam and Crank Sensors?
Swap known good coil pack?

Please help, I'm gonna need it
Thanks

I dont think there is a way to really know without pulling them. You can pull em out and get them flow tested i guess, all other checks that I did were the cause of the problem, so I just borrowed a pair of stock injectors from a friend and put them in, if you have somebody with stock injectors I would definitely try swapping them in

Today I cranked the engine with the injectors out of the intake and they all sprayed good and the same. So tomorrow I'm going to make a Boost Leak Tester and see what happens. If all is good I'll have to test sensors and wiring stuff. I'll let you know how it goes.

tomorrow I'm going to make a Boost Leak Tester and see what happens.

How did the boost leak test go? did you find any major leaks? did it hold any pressure at all? if it doesn't hold any pressure and you don't hear a hissing you have a ridiculously large leak, so hopefully if you had a leak you were able to hear some hissing and find the leaks to fix. If you still can't find anything, light up a cigar and blow smoke into the piping and fill up the system with smoke and it will pour out the leaking spots. Let me know what happened

Yeah I did the blt today, but my compressor really sucks and I found air leaking on the intercooler pipe on the intercooler, but not too bad. I did pull my spark plug wires individually and found cylinder 1 was misfiring pretty bad, so I'm going to replace the coils and see if it runs better. I will probably find an intercooler too its pretty coroded and leaking.

I'm pretty sure the problem is the spark plug, going to replace them tomorrow.

Well I replaced the spark plug then the wire and still only misfires on cylinder 1 so I'm going to mess around with injectors, see if its getting injector pulses.
