Mini Steve-Tek Fuel System Upgrade- Installation and Review

Too many people underestimate stock pump. Although I do have walbro 255hp pump I never bothered installing it. I haven't starved 720cc injectors yet on stock fuel pressure. The pump is driven by a standalone so it is "rewired".

You're runing 14b on 2g with no fuel control or bigger injectors. What makes you think you were starving injectors? How much boost? More volume doesn't do anything to increase flow through stock injectors since you're runing stock FPR. There IS more fuel available but it doesn't do any good since your injectors are opening exactly for same amount of time as before the mod.

they maybe opening for the same amount of time, but they had no fuel to inject. How does 3 deg timing advance sound at 16 psi?

I still don't have my car figured out yet, that is true, and I am still learning, yes, but I like to err on the safe side. This mod cost me ~$35-$40 dollars (I didn't need nor want all of that bling-bling) and I needed to replace the filter anyway, so why not step up to higher flowing equipment in the process?

btw what does your timing look like on your car and what are your 02 voltages? I can't seem to get my timing up. Others have had to have the 02's pegged at 1.00 to get anything over 20 (on 95's). I have only seen over 20 with 02's around .84-.86.

I will be able to experiment more here in a couple of days, as I am heading on over to order a translater as soon as I can finalize the deal on my gm maf.

I'm about to perform this mod as well and wanted to know if anyone logged their engine before and after this mod without adjusting anything. Are your O2s up? Trims lower? Or pretty much the same? I was planning on doing a cheap setup similar to this one, but also change the FPR to an NT FPR to raise my base FP up a bit.

go to a 2G fpr instead. 43.5 base fp. some have had issues with some of the nt regs not rising 1:1, but if you can check it, go ahead.

Well, my timing is what I set it to. I'm runing 18psi and right now I have it set to 16 degrees at 7000rpm. Air fuel ratio is 10.5:1. I can add so much more fuel that wideband stops reading at 9.0:1. That's from initial tuning of standalone on the street. What I did was set fuel on richer side and then i advanced timing till the car pulled hard enough for me but didn't detonate. Soon as I build end tanks for my IC I will tune for max boost on pump gas.

You should definitely get at least SAFC, what was your % duty cycle before and after upgraded line?

unfortunately I can't check duty cycle with the pl, I just knew my timing sucked and is back up a little but not a lot. I can hit 12 deg advance now. I am getting the translator soon (I am waiting to hear back from a guy about his used gm mas) to do some actual tuning, instead of the ghetto way

i was wondering i guess mostly where the ends bolt up, does it go to the stock fpr, and in the case could you easily convert to an aftermakert fpr.
This particular mod doesn't touch the FPR side of the rail at all. That's another step. If you are going to mess with the FPR side of the rail, you will have to replace the stocker, since you'll need the AutoAlchemy fuel rail outlet adapter, which is a piece that bolts on in place of the FPR and converts the lines to AN.

Well, my guess would be that you were knocking or flowing too much air without being able to adjust anything. Get that translator SOON or some other tool to tune before you blow something.
