I am having a problem with 91 talon tsi.

I am finding the small metal sleeve that supposed to be on the end of the transfer case. If i really romp on it or launch the car or anything, it will back off slightly and rattle aroound on the yoke of the DS, getting VERY annoying. I have to get under the car and push it back on the Tcase where it should be, there only appears to be like a 1/2 inch where it slips over the end of the Tcase, and its not really a tight fit, so it backs off easily. Is this a common awd DSM problem and can i get a new sleeve or just take it off, I dont know for sure if it is sealing anything or not. I have noticed a slight leak from this area of gear oil. Perhaps this is what seals? i noticed there is a fat rubber part on the front of the DS that seems to fit snugly in this sleeve.

Anyone got a suggestion?

OK good, i am needing to replace the carrier bearings sometime anyways. I will do that then or just take it off once i have the DS out. I will also replace the rear seal or get the new revised DS yoke, i dont know if my leaking is the "recall leak" or not. I guess i will find out.

TY
