Since my car has been down i have been throwing around some ideas that would be pretty cheap and easy.

I was wondering if anyone has megasquirt running so you can have a stutterbox.

thanks

I think the stutter feature is part of the megasquirt computer. Are you planning on running stand alone managment?

Yes, you can use a stutter box feature with MS. You will need to use it as a full stand alone (i.e. fuel AND spark control), though. I know the MS-I, with the MSnS-E code can do a full out traction control mode... I'm not as sure about MS-II, but I believe there is something.

Alright, heres the situation... I bought this car and it already has MS on it and its controlling fuel and spark. How hard would it be to use the stutterbox feature and how would i wire it.

Thanks

MS-I, or MS-II? I'm guessing MS-II, in which case, I probably couldn't be of much help.

Play with MegaTune a little and see if you can set it up how you want. Just make sure to save your settings before you change anything.

http://www.megasquirt.info should have all the information you need, though. The forums over there are very useful for these kind of questions.

Thanks for the replys

Has anyone on here ever used the stutterbox function with megasquirt? I searched on the MS forums and didnt find anyone that has on our cars.

Thanks
Josh

Yes, you can use the studder box feature with MS..I built and tuned "wishihadatalon"'s MS setup for his talon(took 1st place this year at the Shootout in SA class). It's pretty simple to hook up, and you can use the stock clutch switch to activate it. You will need to wire it up to the MS board, so you will want to go over to msefi.com and check how to do it properly. Here is a link to the mods... http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/launch.html I've built 4 MS so far, did several for my 420A, and have done the one on the 1g talon. My Laser AWD will be getting one as well here over the winter. The launch feature works really well, and I know TJ could build like 20 psi boost at the line LOL..let off the clutch to start slipping, then launch out of the hole..works very, very well..you can set the rpm limits, and retard degrees to whatever you want, to control boost pressure at the line.
