Mechanic Checking For Crankwalk?????

i am getting ready to go look at possibly purchasing another gst i found. i have a good idea of what to look for when it comes to problems with the car. i was wondering if i took the car to a mechanic if it would be possible for them to check for crankwalk issues or engine problems?

Absolutely, i took 3 to a mechanic before i picked one. You might have to explain what crankwalk is though, some mechanics arent familiar with that term. Tell them to measure the cranks endplay and check the thrust bearing for wear.

they will know what to look for, i just brought my car to my mechanic, let him look at it and slipped him like 20 bucks for looking it over.

Yeah I took the Eclipse I bought to RRE before I got it and they checked for Crankwalk.
While there is nothing you can do to prevent crankwalk really it is good to know if it is starting or if it is already occuring.

From what I have been told between .6 and .9 is normal. (I unfortunity dont know what units they measured in, I assume milimeters)
