What does the P# MB510818 relay do? It is located to the left and above the clutch pedal between two other relays. Mine buzzes really bad when I plug it in. I got another one and that one does the same thing. Did get another bad relay or could something else be wrong?

I wired the starter the opposite of what it should be then hooked it to the battery. It killed the battery and started the buzzing. It buzzes with the door open and shut and when the ignition is on or off. I cant try it with the car on becasue the car doesnt run right now(missing turbo oil supply banjo bolt). Also, The CEL, the light next to the CEL(coolant level i think), low oil light, low battery light (even though its brand new), and another light turn on when I put the key in and dont turn off. When I turn the ignition on there is another whinning sound coming from the rear of the car, i think it is the fuel pump. Im not sure if the warning lightsbeing on or the fuel pump whinning is the same problem but maybe it will help diagnose the problem. Thanks

Ok, I tested the relay, Its fine. Also, I plug the relay in, there buzzing, BUT if I push the clutch in, it stops.

Yes, I am 100% sure it is the starter relay. Car wont crank, starter solenoid wont click, Buzzing noise from relay untill clutch is depressed, fuel pump whinning, relays next to battery are clicking. :(

Ok, me and my dad looked at it for a while and we found that I fried the starter solenoid. Tomorrow im going to get a new one and HOPEFULLY it will solve the other problems, ill keep you posted.

How exactly did you wire it?

You DO know that the factory starter relay contacts are normally closed (enables starter) but open (inhibit starter) when activated right? And they activate if the clutch pedal is not pressed and key is turned to start (safety feature). When the clutch is pressed the clutch pedal position switch which was closed (provided ground to the starter relay for activation which disabled starter) now opens to remove the ground to the starter relay (which deactivates the relay and enables the starter). So if you press the clutch and then turn key to start, the starter relay never activates or clicks (the normal click one hears is the MPI relay).

Got all that? So with re-wiring you probably now have it really messed up.

I might have not plugged the wiring harness that the goes from the battery to the starter to the rest of the engine wiring harness. If I didnt than nothing else would have gotten messed up, which would make me very happy. They only way to tell is to test the new solenoid. I went to the autoparts store, $47.95 for just the solenoid....No way im paying that. Im going to go to the junkyard this weekend to pull a used one.
