There are alot of outdated links, pictures that have expired, and basically information that is no longer pertaining to kits that are not being used anymore, or there are other kits that are just generally better because of cost.

My question, is my FMIC didn't come with a mounting bar, I know, I know... cheapo. I'm not gonna bother ordering one. I'll make my own. I'm going to home cheapo, and grab some metal bar that I see and buy it, I think I saw someone on the forums do that and said that it only cost them about 15 bucks. I'm ok with that.

now, where do I mount it to? How do I mount it? and most importantly, are there already holes that I do not have to tap, and how far apart are they so I can have them predrilled into this big piece of metal that I'm going to buy so I don't have to remove my bumper to take a measurement.

1. Front mounts are not metal, they are aluminum. If you want tabs on it, you will need it welded on.
2. Mine is mounted to where my fog lights sit. Just take out your fog lights, measure the holes and have some tabs welded on both sides of the FMIC.

Heres a pic from my old setup, prob not the best picture but you can see the tabs.

perhaps I should post some pics so I can be more clear as to the setup that I have. as you can see, there are already hold in the top and the bottom, but no bar. This is the Cxracing fmic and piping kit, I've already emailed them about not having the mounting bar and so far, they haven't gotten back to me. that was 2 days ago.

the mounting bar thar your missing, has 4 holes in it. 2 of them mount to the round mount holes on the top of your core. the other 2 holes are on the ends of the mount bar. they mount to the top of your bumper support.
if you are making the mount bar, dont forget to put the bends in it so the core hangs lower that the bumper. the bare cant be straight

the mount holes on the bottom of your core, you will have to find your own custom spot for

so again.... more punishment racing or cx racing intercooler problems... let me tell you from experience that you need to get the bov flange and the j pipe flange machined flat because there not.... unless you like boost leaks... i know 4 people plus myself that had that problem

How much was the kit that your bought because cx sells 2 kits and something they ship the piping for the better kit on accident, your piping look like its the upgraded pipe set.

CXRacing got back to me today and it is in fact the better piping kit.
as for the jpipe and the bov flange being flat, there doesn't seem to be a problem with them as far as I can see. I checked the jpipe with a straight edge and it seemed ok, but the bov flange has a gasket and crush washers, If i Fudge that up then I don't deserve to hold tools. I'm just saying.

As for the cost, it ended up being 220 shipped, which was supposed to be the DIY kit because I am a cheap sombitch, that was supposed to ship with the less good piping kit? I'm not really complaining here because I got the solid 1 piece bov pipe, and it all bolts up very nicely with very little movement of the pipes. I ordered the Mounting bar from Allintercoolers on ebay and it should be here by wednesday. I'll have pictures when I do the install.

PS. For S n Gs, I got the cxracing evo 16g knockoff and their tubular manifold that bolts up to the turbo, I've got tons of gaskets, tons of bolts, and a SS oil feed lines. Pictures will be posted in this thread. along with a step by step install for anybody that wants to follow along. Total install time is estimated at 10 hours, because i'm lazy and slow.

yeah yeah, I know it's an ebay turbo and to be perfectly honest, what's the worst that can happen? I'm out some time and some money... Sounds like the rest of you own a DSM as well. Pretty sure the rest of you are out some time and money for trying something different. But... like I said, pictures will be posted.

i ran ebay 16g for 15,xxx miles before she shit the bed... im sure what killed it was i moved my oil feed line to the OFH from the head... it only blew out the exhaust seal. i went back to my 14b and felt like i had just as much power if not more....
