As much as it will put down before it blows. Could be 300hp or it could last till 650hp and beyond. The general consensus is that you should upgrade the pistons and rods after about 400-450hp.

This is borderline bench racing.

I agree. 4G63's arent the greatest 4 cylinder engine for no reason. There almost perfect when it comes to making hp on a 4 cylinder engine.

I guess you can say no one really knows the stock bottom ends potential. Its fairly unlimited IMO, its the fact of how long can it pull that much HP.

I would like to say stock bottom ends max out around 350 hp (by that i mean they would be running at 100% work force safetly.) Anything more and your not running that bottom end safetly regardless.

I live by the rule build the car to 100% of what your want such as 500whp. And in the end make no more than 450whp. Therfore you give yourself that 10% safety net.

In the end 350 is the top the bottom end can be ran, and ran daily without many issues.

As you can see by the differing numbers being posted by everyone, no one can tell you how much whp an individual block is capable of producing/withstanding. One block may make 350whp before spinning a bearing, while another may snap a rod at 250whp. Another may hold strong until 400. Before you just go "upgrading your turbo and gonna run more boost" make sure you have ALL the supporting modifications to allow you to run your target boost. Get it professionally dyno-tuned to make the most, safest, power you can.

And don't just run your car till you blow the engine. 6-bolt blocks don't grow on trees.

Closed for now for bench racing.
