well guys... i have come to a dilemma... whether to choose between an Turbonetics RS49T ( http://www.agpturbo.com/customer/pr...3&cat=72&page=1 ) or a RS60T ( http://www.agpturbo.com/customer/pr...4&cat=72&page=1 ) ... price wise - they are the same... as far as im concerned, its a matter of how much $$$ i want to spend on supporting mods... mods are listed in profile, i would definantly need a larger fuel pump (TT supra?) and possibly larger injectors... i have denso 660s now... and a couple of questions wouldnt hurt either--- so--- to my understanding these turbos bolt up to the stock manifold and o2 housing... with an external wastegate, i would no longer need the o2 dump--- would a stock ported o2 housing work well w/ an external wastegate ? ... my current clutch is a street disc, would that clutch hold up, or would i be forced to invest in an ACT 2600/3200 ? <--- since a 6 puck may be needed... would i be driving in a fear of crankwalk... ? would i be forced to invest in a 6 bolt ?... thanks ur time n help guyz... :dsm:

You injectors will probably support around 400whp so you will most likely need to upgrade if you want to go beyond that. As for the fuel pump. I can't remember what the 190 will support. I would just drop in a 255 hp and be done with it. You will have to have an external mounted on the maniofld, or you could spring for a new o2 housing set up for an external wg. As far as turbo choice, it depends on how much power you want to make.

ok I'm going to try and not make this so long but it might get a little long so bear with me please

Now I know that the rs60 is a bigger turbo so right away it looks to be the one that you should get but for you i don't know if thats the case. if you put in a bigger fuel pump you would be capable of running the rs49 pretty good with just the fuel pump and figuring out how you want to do your waste gate. your weakest link at this time is your S-AFC because to really run the 60-1 decently...now im not saying you can't run it with what you have but i mean acctually get it perfroming like it was made to your going to need to spend alot of cash on a better tuner because you will probabley want to run 720's or bigger and tuning with the afc wont be so fun anymore. the rs49 is a great turbo i have a friend that has one on his car and he love's it. but everyone say's that there next turbo upgrade is their last but it never really is so if you can get the bigger turbo at the same price i would maybe consider it but then thats only if you plan to spend alot of money down the road for things like cam's, a six bolt, and something else to tune with. so they are both good turbo's you just have to ask if once you get the 50trim are you going to wish you got the 60-1

I've seen 650whp cars tuned with the SAFC and 720injectors. I'd say the weakest link for you is going to be the shop doing the tuning. Wether it be dyno or street.

I have the RS60T. Your 660's will be fine unless you run 25+ psi which I doubt, at least for the near future. I run 23 psi and my 650cc inj's are at 75% duty cycle at the boost which still leaves a little more there. Walbro 255 and an AFPR. I use the www.fullthrottlespeed.com AFPR, bolt on and only $145. 3" exhaust. You willneed a good FMIC. I did not check your mods so excuse any dupication here. I do have an EPROM ECU and DSMchip and tune with a MAF-Translator. I also have a wideband AS/F meter and a Scanmaster but the 2g's do not have a Scanmaster available. The Bullseye turbine housing ROCKS! Spool is quick, starts at 2300 in 3r gear and hits my full boost before 4000. I use a Logic perfrmance header.
Works well with stock cams but larger would help more. I am selling a set of Compcams 101200's for $385. shipped with only 300 miles on them. Put the cams in and checked compression and it was 110psi so I ordereda Buschur stage 3 motor/head and want more aggressive cams. If you want to stay with an internal gate the bullseye works great!!
Get the oil lines as they ae really beefy and will cover your 1 year waranty better. Can't think of anything else right now but if you have any ????? please ask! Mark

You need to decide what your goals are, and you need to decide now.

You will need a 2600 or similar to run either of those turbos, so yes, your going to have a larger risk of crankwalk. So... what to do? Well, you could run the 7 bolt until it *might* die, then get a 6 bolt, or get a 6 bolt now. The 60 will be pushing the limits of the stock rods, so it might be a good idea to have a built bottom end. If your planning on eventually putting a 6 bolt in, I'd suggest getting a good set of rods & pistons, and then getting the 60. If you want to take a chance on the 7 bolt, get the 49, since the 60 will be to much for the bottom end anyways.

Another option would be getting SBR's 3500 to be a little kinder on the thrust bearing. So if you keep the 7 bolt, run the RS49 and the 3500.

Just my .02

The 60-1 at 17/18 psi makes plenty of power and would not strain the motor anymore then the RS49T. I see the turbo's suporting mods as being equal. Neither turbo would be used to it's potential unless a built motor were used. Unless you forsee a forged motor with a set of good cams down the road then go or stay with an EVO big 16G. You've got what it takes to run either turbo but what are your goals and when would a built motor be a possibility?
I ran my 7 bolt with 20-23psi hard with no ill effects but with over 100k miles and only 110PSI compression a rebuild was in order. Mark

The 190lph fuel pump has made 450whp, but if you're aiming for anything over that I'd go for the 255 and an afpr. I run a 60-1 with my 680cc injectors and an safc and absolutely love it. There is tons of power potential to be made. Oh, and your street disk will be fine.
