Does anybody know if the stock airbox setup in a 98 GS contains the mass airflow sensor? If not where would it be. My mechanic says i need to take off my CAI and put the stock airbox back on in order to get a reading off of my Check engine light

Yes the stock airbox contains the MAS. If its like the 1g then the MAS should be inside the cone filter. Putting on a CAI shouldnt make you CEL come on. Check and make sure you connected everything back up right.

i have a 98 and my cel is on and my mechanic said they cant get a correct reading of the cel because the MAS is missing. I think my CEL is on because my O2 sensors are bad but it cant be determined because the MAS isnt on there. So i have to buy the stock airbox and put it back on to check it out. Does that sound right or is he screwin me over
