car runs okay with the mas unplug as soon as i plug it in the thing runs bad have tried three different mas .
could it be a ecu problem ?

Did you try disconnecting and reconnecting power after installation of the MAF?

Only thing I can think of is that maybe you're in limp home mode without the MAF and this somehow works for you but then putting the MAF on kicks you out of limp home mode which somehow results in your poor running performance. Disconnecting the power will reset the ECU to give you a fresh start on ECU "learning..."

Update your profile with all mods/changes and do a BOOST LEAK TEST.

Yes it can be the ECU. I just went to SD on my 1G and found out that the IAT circuit is damaged internally. A bad ECU can cause strange issues. I suggest trying a known good ECU. But also agree with the previous poster, Do a boost leak test.
