MAS Problem

My engine in my 93 ES was missing like crazy. When I disconnect the MAS it runs fine though?? I didn't think that was supposed to happen? Does anybody know what is going on here?

runs fine at idle or when you actually drive? most cars will idle with the sensor unplugged, but driving is when it gets really fun.

Yeah it runs fine all the time with it unplugged not just at idle. I guess it must just need a new MAS but should I bother if it runs fine without it?
