Is there anybody who has a 1g with ABS and is using a Magus Intake Manifold ( with a 75mm throttle body flange). I would like to see some pics or hear some details on how you got it to fit.

I just installed the intake on my 92 talon. after taking off the old manny and placing the magnus in to check fitment, i opted to avoid the hassel and remove the ABS. the ABS removal is quite simple and took me about 2-3 hours including the time it took to bleed the system, just have to be careful with the new lines. you can bend them a little but make sure they dont kink. i got all the parts needed for the swap shipped to my door for about $80. i definitly recommend doing this while you have the intake out (makes it easier) and it gets rid of the annoying/freak you out for no reason peddle jump from the ABS. plus i have absolutly no idea how it would ever fit with the ABS system still in there. also,(if you havent already done so) make sure to get a smaller battery(thinner) as it clears up that much more room for connecting the intake pipes.

Thank for your reply. But that is what I want know has anyone install it with the ABS still on the car. This is one of the reasons I was leaning toward the BJ intake. I think I could get the BJ to work. Is there any other intakes that are good and that are similar to the BJ

BJ's been ripping people off left and right. Avoid anything from him. The only BJ you should accept would be....you get the idea.

Yes I understand BJ is having major issues. I just want an intake that is designed and performs like BJ's. The Magnus has great reviews from what I have read but the fit is an issue for me. I plan on doing my on piping but I don't see anyway that I get it to fit and keep the ABS.

I have been looking at the JM Fabrication intake and was wondering has anybody used it or what do you guys think about it.

Im a big advocate of ABS brakes. It will always keep the average driver safer than being in a car that is not equipped - regardless of driving skill. Alot of drivers are overconfident of their driving skills and disable this life-saving feature.

If you cannot keep your ABS with this mod, stay away from it or wait until they include a provision for ABS.

I dont know if the setup for 2Gs is different, but I was able to keep my ABS when I installed my Magnus Intake. I used a 62-65mm throttle body (whatever the BBK one is), and relocated the battery to the trunk.

Magnus will never include a prevision for ABS. The magnus intake manifold is a race part. If you make it work on your street car, good for you. If you race a car you don't have ABS so it doesn't matter.

What you say regarding people being way overconfident of their driving skills is so true however. Its funny guys think they are the best drivers cause they can dangerously weave in and out of traffic but put them on a road course and its obvious they can not drive. Being stupid doesn't make someone a good driver. In 99% of the street car applications you will always wanna keep ABS cause it will stop you faster in a pannic situation which is what it's for. Nobody should be heal-toeing on the street where abs would be a factor.

99% of the people on this board couldn't control a performance go-kart let alone a real setup race car without abs so anybody removing it is just kidding themselves in their driving ability, myself included.

abs on a 2g is in the drivers front fenderwell. abs on a 1g is right above the side trans motor mount. So a 2g wouldn't have problems installing a magnus intake on their car. A 1g however, would run into clearance issues unless they get clever with the upper intercooler pipe and throttle body.

having said that, the abs on 1g sucks horribly so it's not worth it to try and keep it. If you need a non-abs proportioning valve to help out your conversion, pm me.
