So let me get this straight, you have a 97 FWD with exhaust, boost controller, free mods, etc just as your profile says. Then, you're going to buy a 1g AWD, and build it up, and run high 9's? And that's going to be keeping up with Shep? I hope you learn to drive before then, since your posted time is a 10 flat in the eigth on your 2g FWD.

yes it did, with a half a tank of gas, two people, and a full show stereo system and 18 inch wheels. stock clutch at a 3500 launch. Just casue my car woudlnt run as fast as id liek it to doesnt mean i cant drive. Im not the best, but with time and practice all you can do is get better. everyone jsut about can use improvement, i dont plan to jump in a car and run 9s...i expect maybe 12s the first few times till i get it dialed in and then get faster from there. I understand it takes time. like i said, i have plenty of it. Im 19 and have all the time in the world.

adn my best time was a 14.9 but i dont have the slip anymore...it went with the car

Show me one track anywhere in the US that allows you to make a pass with ANY passengers, let alone TWO.

isn't that what these cars do stock with a boost controller / free mods?

As far as running with shep ... you won't. If shop cars can't do it you sure as hell won't. You said something about 500-600 horsepower in an earlier post ... shep is around 1000. Ams has an evo in the 600s WHP and it does mid 10s. It takes more than what you think to do what you want to do. You have enough money for a new tranny after every few runs? You gonna spray it? What compression? What turbo? And worst of all ... why apexi???????

My car is a fully built 2.0 and without spray we gteched a 11.8. Then the trans broke ... You think an extra .4 liters will get you into the 9s or 10s?!??!?!

NHRA tracks, as long as you run 14.0 or slower

ummm

Ours does... Bandimere Raceway just outside of denver

Passengers allowed as long as the e/t is 14.0 or slower

Have you ever gone to the shootout? That is one of the best parts about Norwalk. I got to take my buddy GSX4Life as a passneger on one of my 130 mph passes.

So what are you gonna do about cams ?? Apexi doesn't make cams for our cars - so right there its not an all Apexi car. And I really hope u aren't planning on trying to build a drag car w/ a <3" N1 exhaust. I'll tell you right now my 2.3L has enuf trouble breathing thru that thing let alone if i had a turbo that that had the exhaust side you're gonna need to run anywhere near shep or the other top dsm time spots. I don't understand why you want to stick to a company that only makes 4 products for our cars??

If you're wondering why everyone is flaming you its because every week we have some BIG DAWG who's gonna build the fastest DSM out there in 2 years - guess what - they never come back! (seems you should know this since you've been registered here and have such a well established reputation/history)

Anyway, I'm gonna wish you luck on your journey through making a high hp dsm. I know mine has been damn expensive - and slow. I hope you really go back to the drawing board and think about your goals vs. brand loyalty and really weight whats more important - because currently the things you want won't add up.

Good luck - hope to see you someday at the track :dsm:

I feel significantly dumber after reading this guy's thread.

BTW.. Both National Trail Raceway and Norwalk (1 NHRA, 1 IHRA) allow passengers if the car is 13.99 or slower.
