Is this correct?

MAFT - Turn Base CCW or turn Idle/Mid/WOT CW or set mode switch to smaller MAF size:
ECU - sees more air, adds more fuel (longer injector pulse), and lowers timing
AFR - goes down, car runs richer


MAFT - Turn Base CW or turn Idle/Mid/WOT CCW or set mode switch to larger MAF size:
ECU - sees less air, adds less fuel (shorter injector pulse), and raises timing
AFR - goes up, car runs leaner

I'm thinking about throwing my AFPR into this mix and try to get a semi-decent tune, so I just want to make sure that I have this thing figured out :)

Your're right on the theory, but bear in mind, the base adjustment is special compared to the others, it only has if my memory serves me correctly 2 clicks ccw from 0 to set smaller injector size (richer mixture). Also note it is possible to get some screwy results if the other three knobs are way different from each other. Example: car running 680cc injectors, set base to either 650 (2 clicks cw) and adjust mixture slightly leaner(ccw) with other knobs (approx 5% per click) or 700 (3 clicks cw) then set others slightly richer(cw). If you find yourself making adjustments to say richen the idle 4 or 5 clicks, find your vacuum leak, then tune. I've set a lot of these up, and it is a useful tool, but it has its own limitations, I prefer to make my gross corrections in the ECU code, and then save the MAFT for adjustments "on the fly". If you have an EPROM ECU in that car, I can burn you a chip that has injector compensation already in it, that way your timing and fuel maps are correct and you can enjoy the MAF for its flow improvement without fightint the timing advance you'll have now.
