I'm going to be using a gm maf and instead of buying the regular maf tranlator i'm getting the maf-t pro. My question is will I be able to tune with it enough for a mild setup as in can I use this instaed of a safc? I read it has base maps that alow you to put you injector size and run it like that. Is this good enough to tune with?

The MAF-T or MAF-T Pro will give you some decent tuning abilitys but make sure you get a data logger first so you can monitor your engine and know what needs tuning.

What's the difference between the maft pro and the gen 2? The gen 2 sounds exactly like what you're describing, and it's got some other cool features as well. I think it's what I'm going to get eventually.

THe Gen 2 does waideband tracking you can dial in a Af:r and it will fix the tune to that afr. I plan on switching the gen 1 to that. Does anyone know if i need new wiring or will it plug into the harness i have setup all ready, because I'd like to just buy the GEn 2 swap it in and sell the other.

With the Gen 2 do you need a logger if you run a wide band o2?
Also, once you get it tuned with the wide band can you take the wide band off?
Seems if you have a Gen 2 + wide band and logger, you can set the AFR and let it do all the hard stuff.
If you left the wide band on will it change the tune itself, if I go back and forth with pump and race gas?

Id like to know this also.

Yes, you will need a logger. While a Gen 2 may keep your a/f ratio to where you want it, you will need a logger to see timing and other parameters like IDC.

If you get a chip that is customized at a certain a/f ratio and timing and you see knock on the stock boost gauge, you might be able to get away without a logger, but a wideband is NOT a replacement for a logger.
