I just installed a maf-t and I set my base settings to 450cc just like the manual said. Fuel cut. I set it to 470cc and fuel cut so I started tuning with my safc and I had to set it to -23% across the board to make the fuel cut stop.
I am running an auto fpr that gives me 43 fp and I have a rewired 190 fuel pump. I am running the maf-t draw through. Once I was able to get the fuel cut to stop I was getting 20+ counts of knock. My wide band reading shows 10:9 and my idc is at 81%.

Question: Should I turn my base setting up to 550 and 0 out the SAFC. I am trying to tune for 17psi of boost on 93 and will be tuning for over 20 at the track. I believe the knock is from heating up the supra side mount from so many runs trying to stop fuel cut. I am going to test that idea as soon as my wife gets home to watch the kids. I want to be able to have a wider tuning abillty with the Safc and not have it so far back.

This is on a 14b.

Thank you for your help

Travis,
I am dealing with this stuff right now as well.

I have found that you really have to watch your airflow and IDC. Too low of an airflow will give you too much timing (ie by rasing your "injector setting") or too high will get you into trouble with fuel cut (ie too low of an "injector setting"). For example, I was told to try to use the 3.5" MAF setting in order to run richer. I had to correct for 600cc injectors to get myself back in order, however, I ended up running wayyyy rich and was wayyyy too low with my airflow (too much timing and fuel = detonation). Now I am set for 3" MAF and 440cc injectors and seems to be going much better. It is a work in progress.

My setup is 550s, AFPR, hotwired 255hp pump, SAFC, blow thru w/3" GM MAF, 19psi, EVO3 16G, stock SMIC. I also believe that the SMIC is holding me back a lot.

I have been playing with my settings for awhile now and am learning this by adding or taking a click away from each knob as I go and watch fuel trims, WB readings, etc. Once I get it close, I am going to be working on using the SAFC to fine tune and then turn my alcohol system back on.
