Ok my 97 spyder gst is a daily driver and i want it to be functional and not scrape everywhere i go. I want to lower it 1-1.5" only. I would like feedback from people that own spyder's on different spring/coilover setups since the gst has the extra weight in the back. I am having a hard time finding springs designed for the sypder gst. I was planning on going with eibach pro kit but i noticed they dont make a kit designed specifically for my car.

thanks for the suggestion. can people please post their lowered spyder and list what suspension setup they have and how they like it

i would personally go lower than the Tein...no offense to you but i just like them when they are lowered enough to tell, i just lowered my girls car with the stock 16's and KYB AGX shocks with the Eibach sportline kit (rated at 1.6 inch drop) these were the lowest ones that i could find without getting coils, and they ride GREAT...we both have no complains at all with the ride quality, it is daily driven (she drives about 80 miles a day) and very rarely does she scrape, scraping a little more now though because since the exhaust was put on the DP hangs a little lower. But yeah, i have NO complaints with this setup!! :thumb:

thanks for the prompt responses. i dont think i will go with sportlines, i have them on my integra gsr and its just not practical for a dail driver, although i do love the look of a slammed car.

I had Sportlines on my old eclipse rs, and I do agree that it was a bit too much for me (they sagged to around 2"). I'll be going with the Eibach Pro-kit this time around with the gsx. :) A friend of mine has them on his gs-t and they are absolutely the perfect look for these cars, IMO.

has anyone experienced both the tein s tech and the pro kit? They both seem to be about the same drop and i'm wondering if there is a difference in ride quality between the two of them. I'm leaning towards the tein s techs simply because they seem to be more affordable, about $135 shipped versus $185 for the pro kit.

well the car with the black cf hood . . . that was rrrrrrrrrreaaaly nice.OH my god! well i would tell you go with tein. . .I believe they are a better quailty then the others. . just my 2 cents. . .

The H&R oe sport, tein s tech, and pro kit all seem to be similar in drop height. Which of these will yield the best ride quality? I am still leaning towards the tein's simply because they seem to be much cheaper on the net. any last words before i order to persuade me?

to understand suspension is by understanding what spring rates [ and of course other variables are ]

the "best ride quality" is characterized by matched spring rates to shocks. I forget the actual numbers but i believe the HR OE sports were best compatable with tokico illumina's on a certain setting.

every different spring/shock combo you go with will be different. whether you notice a difference or not is up to you

out of all of those i'd say this:

i'm sure the prokit/HR OE sport/tein s-tech will all lower and ride the same with the same type of shock..

good luck keep us updated

p.s., post your results in the suspension forum
