hey all

im looking to buy some lowering springs for my 95 eclipse....and i only have about 200 to spend....can anyone reccomend a set for less than that, and still get a good ride quality.

Any comments or reccomendations are appreciated....

Eibach Sportlines

I got them off someone on 2gnt.com for $110, but you also need shocks and a camber kit, and there is no way you are getting all that for under $200

I forget which brand of shocks is the best... they've just slipped my mind... but you need to get ingalls camber kit

EDIT: I'm sure you can get a kit on ebay for like $100 or something... but that's not a good idea :nono:

What about for a 94 eclipse 1st gen? I NEED to remove that ugly wheel well space! :barf:
I have a bodykit and such so i dont want to go to much lower in fear of ripping my front off :sosad:

Save your money. I reccommend the Tein S.Tech springs, in conjunction with shocks of your liking (Tokico Blues come to mind for those on a budget.) Of course you will also need a camber kit for the front and rear as well. Expect to spend 4-600 dollars on lowering your car with a basic lowering spring setup. Otherwise, expect to spend more in repairs. :dsm:

Eibach or H&R are both very good. Good spring rate, smooth ride still. I'm going to be getting rid of my coil overs soon and getting Eibach Prokit with Koni Adjustable shocks. My buddy has that set up on his RT Neon.... beautiful!

I have H&R race springs, I love them, warning though, its probably the biggest drop of any lowering springs you can buy.

Pick up some KYB or Tokico adjustable shocks while your at it, if you dont want a bouncy ride.

H&R springs are probably your best bet, they have good springs rates for the amount of drop. I would say go with a set of koni adjustable shocks, because they have a shorter body (which is needed when lowered) hpwever, if money doesnt allow a set of tokico adjustable shocks will serve better than factory shocks will.

i got Sprints,if you don't mind the Bounce,i would say go for it,looks clean

i was wondering the same thing, so pretty much if you buy lowering springs you HAVE to buy a camber kit and new shocks? even lowering it 1.5" will throw your alignment off that much?

Yeah, camber kit is necessary? Im tempted to buy a set a lowering springs and shocks off a guy on craigslist and call it good. =\

For a save ride you'll have to replace the shocks as well.U realt don't need a camber kit ROFL

The shocks are weak/smooth,like a american ride.If U put on very heavy springs under the car it will boune up to hard ....

I have a set of Eibach Pro-kit spings on my car. The Sportlines will lower your car more, but the ride is absolute crap. The Pro's work well enough, but you are going to want to get a set on Koni's too. You do need the camber correction kit. I couldn't get mine right without it. The Eibach's also have a good warrenty.:talon:

Pro- kit's on e-bay for $199 or $228 shipped.

I have Eibach Pro with Tokico Illuminas and RRE's rear camber kit (which is similar to the stack of washers listed on www.vfaq.com). Don't forget to get an alignment done after you install the lowering springs.

Why on earth do people suggest Sportlines? They're an injustice to car enthusiasts.

If too severe a drop that can potentially decrease handling and spring rates much too low for said drop (actually LOWER rates than STOCK SPRINGS) are your thing, then go nuts.

Because some people like crappy handling and cracked front bumpers because it looks cool to have a slammed car. :toobad:

Thinkin about gettin some Tein S Tech's, but on their site the pics they have up of a car with them on, hardly looks lower at all. Just wonderin how much actual drop people get?

I don't know about lowering your car. Driving will destroy your bumper.

I know Im havin second thoughts now. Partly because messin the bumper and the new paint job I'm puttin on soon. And also because Im sellin it. Thinkin its not worth it to spend 500+ when its gonna add hardly any value towards the sale. Hmm... =\
