So while my Eagle Talon Esi was out of commission, I decided to gather alot of parts which was a terrible idea since I didnt have money when I needed it. Any who my dad came across some Spec-D lowering springs on craigslist. New still in box for 20 bucks!!! Thats a steal but I was a little worried since I had never heard of the company. It has close to the same stock spring rate off by 3 pounds in the rear. First question is should i trust these unknown springs? Second Question is how hard would it be to install these myself? I have never installed springs or shocks on an Eagle car. Before I was working with BMWs. What tools would I need? Thanks guys.

Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong place. I am still a newbie and it wont let me post in the proper section.

I can't even find that as a brand. Maybe the brand is something else? Anyhow, if it's unknown I wouldn't trust them. I bought some unknown springs once and they were great for about three or so months. Then they started to sag so much I had to get rid of them ASAP. The ride went from perfect to the worst! Stay away if it's a unknown brand.

I can recommend the Megan Racing Lowering Springs. They are cheap ($100) and ride pretty good. It's about a 2" drop. I had a set on my car before I switched to coilovers, they are still going on my buddies car riding great!

As far as tools, not sure which ones exactly but it's just basic tools. You can rent a spring compressor at the auto parts and return it when done. It's a basic job that should take no more than two to three hours to complete at the most.

Ok. I found the website. They also make springs for the 3g. And i will check out the Megans today. I heard alot of good stuff about them. But if i get those Im sure I will have to get a camber kit and change my shocks too. Oh well. So much for a deal LOL

That's pretty much with any lowering springs. The more of a drop you get, the quicker the shocks go since the travel will be reduced the most and they are more prone to bottoming out. Go on eBay, they sell shock/spring combos for our cars that are very affordable and ride great. I believe Eibach makes them.

ill let you know right now. when i went to change my shocks and springs it was a PITA!! it may of been just my car but alot of the bolts were frozen so we torched them to loosen them. plus we needed to cut 3 of the 4 springs in half in order to get the bumperstop.

Definitely, get a camber kit with a drop it throws the camber off and the handling will be comprised.

Lol after that statement I just want to take it to a shop.

It won't be compromised as far as your car loosing control over a rock LOL. When the tires get negative camber the inside of the tire is the one having contact with the ground thus less grip. Also they wear unevenly. Just get a camber kit and install it along with the setup you choose. Then just get it aligned and voila!

Is this ebay camber kit worth anything? Its only 150 soooooo im hoping it is.

Hey guys i bought h and r pro series springs for my car the other day. i was planning on putting them on this weekend and renting a spring compressor at my local auto store. it is a 2 inch drop in the front and 1.75 inch drop in the rear. they are slightly used so the springs are "broken in". i own a 1996 eagle talon tsi awd and i was wondiering if i only need an alignment? do i "have" to buy new shocks or camber kit? i just got all new oem shocks the other month if that helps. appreciate the help
