I am currently thinking about lowering my 2g spyder. I got 17" Enkei CDR9's and 215/45's and I noticed the massive wheel gap. I want to get rid of this wheel gap, but I want to still be able to jack up my car if I ever need to. I was wondering if anyone out there has lowered their car and if they have issues using a car jack. :dsm:

Previous owner and fellow Forumite here had his/my Talon TSi lowered 2 inches.

No problems jacking using a standard auto-store $30 hydraulic floor-jack. Unknown per scisor jack.

I *_did_* have to "rotate" the jack under the Talon's jacking points in order to get them in there, though, as the stock side-skirts were hanging so low that they were blocking entrance of the jack.

Hope this helps.

Just add 2 or 4 blocks of 2x4 to your tool collection and drive/push your car onto the blocks when you need to jack up the car. That's how they do it in shops to get them on the lift.

My sprint springs settled more than 2" now, and im on stock RS rim size still. I end up having to use 2 jacks, scissors, then bottle, to get it high enough to slip the jack stands under now. Pain in the ass, but worth the look and feel of the ride.

ya with my other eclipse its lowered 3" and i have to first use the scissor jack then go with the aluminum jack (6 pumps and it raises all the way up)

just dont forget to use the scissor jack when you lower it, or else you'll end up with a stuck jack
