ok well i just bought this 91 gsx 2 days ago it was running perfect before i did the oil change well my problem is low oil pressure while idling, i have 10-20 psi of O.P. but if i rev to 1,500-2,000 rpm's my oil pressure goes to 40 psi on my guage and on stock gauge to the first line...but when i drive it my oil pressure is perfect...

the oil i put was Mobil 1 full senthetic 10W-40...i called the guy i bought the car from and said he didnt know what oil it had previously ### he only had the car for a month

it would be greatly apriciate for the help

I take it you have checked your oil level?

10-20psi is normal at idle.

oh sorry i didnt mention that but yeah its perfect

and the engine is stock only cam gears and it still has the balance shaft

because before i did my oil change it was 30-40 psi

When my car is completely warmed up, it runs around 12-15psi at idle!!!

completely stock....5w30.. but also ambient temp plays a factor, if you see 100' a lot 10w30 would be my recommendation

its a good possibility with oil pressures 30-40 PSI at idle that he was running 20w50 conventional when you bought it. then with mobile 1 10w40 lower weight and synthetic your pressures dropped. also a safe bet unless you know what was run previously the first 2 oil changes should always be synthetic blend. because then you can run run what ever you want after that because the blend mixes with both full synthetic and conventional. not a good idea to go from conventional to straight synthetic first change because the 2 do not mix and you will trap residual conventional oil in the bearings and thats not good.
