I just bought a 97 eclipse gst, and I'm not new to dsm but there seams to b a lot of controversy on oil pressure. I have a 6 bolt swap 97 with a evo3 16g and oil pressure is horrible according to the stock Guage. It's running slightly below half at 1500rpm or more and at idle drops to like 1/16 the guage. I kno that's not good but I just drove the car home like that "had no choice when I got it was all interstate miles but" drove it 100 miles checked the oil and it was fine. Running full syn. Mobil 1 10/30 and need to kno what could cause this. Have aftermarket guage and will hook it up tomorrow. Will post my findings. Plz help

Hi!
Yes first do that "hook up the aftermarket gauge" the stock tends to be no so accurate!
Now fully warmed up idle should be 10-11 psi no less cruising could be around 50 - 60 or 70 depending on the RPM and close to 80-90 by red line, al car behave different depending on mods, build, age, etc so keep that in mind too!

Thanks will do. And I just got rid of the 1g in my profile pic and it ran like 80 at all times aftermarket and stock Guage tho same mods almost except one thing. 1g had bal del and don't think think this one does cuz it has slight vib on low idle like oil pump timing and bal timing is off but at 1000rpm + it goes away. Also lots of controversy on that with oil press probs as well

So got the aftermarket guage hooked up and now oil press is where it's sup to b. Apparently bad connection on the connection wire to the sending unit. Fixed it now both work perfect
