low idle and studdering

Hey guys, today I left school and im sitting at the light and I notice a slight jolt every 5-6 seconds when im at idle. It kinda feels like the jerk when you shift from park to drive. Also when i floor it I notice it studders between 1000-2000 rpms slightly but then pulls fine the rest of the range. Idle is 800-600, 600 being when it kicks for a second.

I dont think its the alternator because when i had a similar problem it would die if i didn't give it gas.

I am going to check the coil pack and spark plugs. Any ideas on what could cause this?

Do you have a check engine light or any DTC's, Also do you notice it when it is warm, warming up, or anytime.

I havea check engine light on, i notice is barly changes brightness when the studder happens. The light ahs been on for like a year now but this just started. It happens right away and all the time.

The light dims because the alternator isn't spinning as fast when the rpms drop. Go get the Codes for that CEL, just because it has been on for a while doesn't mean new codes haven't been stored recently.
