My car has sit for about a year, I just rebuilt the engine, and took it for its first drive yesterday. On my way back, when I was going about 10mph something started making a very loud noise in the driverside front. It doesn't do it when I am stopped, so I figure it has to be somthing with the brakes, or drivetrain. If I turn the wheel sharp while driving it goes away, but going straight it does not do it. Any suggestions?

Wheel hub, Mined does the same thing, drive straight, nothing making a left turn all the noise you want LOL. I found a dealer that sells things on ebay, $124 for the hub.

I would aslo check your CV boot/axle as well, I found mine is torn up

I just put a brand new axle in it while I was rebuilding the engine. Do I just need to tell them the hub for the front drivers side?

yeah, just say front driverside hub assy, they should beable to get that for ya, I like the fact you don't have to order both at the same time :thumb:

I'm Hoping (fingers crossed) that when i go to remove my axles to pull the trans/engine this weekend, there not ceased... :(

My wheel bearing assy makes a small, faint squeeling noise. It happens occasionally, not too often, but more than I'd like for it to.... I had the car up on jacks for my oil change, and I was going around, taking a look at things and I noticed that the right front wheel would shake back and forth more than the driver side front :sosad: Im gonna take off the tire and see if there's something I can tighten up. This car has to take me to college, and maybe into the 12s  Let me know what you guyz think... :thumb:

If your hub is shaking, replace it.

If it is not shaking, then replace it. Get down to the source might take a few $'s but in the end you will be comforted knowing you did everything you could to make your car run properly.

Wheel bearings on these cars go out like Mike Tyson. Sometimes the only symptoms is the dreaded noise, other times the damn wheel/hub can move around like it is floating.

there not hard to take out, ONCE you get the brakes and axle out of the way. Just 4 bolts and a bit of hammering nicely to get it out, got mine out, bearing moves all over the place, could't tell when the axle was in it. So new driver side axle (mushroomed the end to get it out 20lb BFH) and a hub. Come to find out passager side was just changed before i got the car and the driver side had 120k on it
