Loud Crack/Pop when going over bumps

As some of you might know i have the Tokico HP suspension kit. But lately ive noticed that when I go over a manhole or something of that nature at certain speeds i hear a loud bang/pop noise comming from the passenger side rear portion of my car, sounds like its on the inside. The only thing i can guess is its my hatch slapping, or something. It kinda sounds glass/metal-ish. Is this a common thing or what?

I try to avoid every bump that i possibly can, but if its too late im not going to make a james bond style brake-lock-up slide in order to miss a measly man-hole. I just avoid what i can and grit my teeth.

Glass onto metal contact huh? The stuff that rattles in my car is the third brake light on the window. It came loose and on every bump I hit, the thing rattles around.

But from what you're describing, it doesn't sound like that's your problem. Be a little more descriptive.

It could possibly be the brake light in the back window, but it sounds like it is comming more from the hatch. Its a loud "PAP!" "CACK" sound, its hard to describe, but it only happens when i go over a jarring bump. Around where it pivots. I might want to take my cover off the rear shock and see if it needs tightening, maybe its the bolts poping. We'll see.

happened to me after i installed the struts....it was the 2 nuts u run together to lock on top of the strut in the rear under that little square cover. the strut was moving up and down where the nuts had worked loosemaking that washer make a glassy sound and the pop everytime it hit. check all 4 of them. good luck

That also came to mind. About how many ft. lbs. should they be snugged to? Anyone know?

Yep that was it...the 2 bolts on each side had worked their way a lil bit loose. You could see daylight under them. If i had taken the covers off i wouldve seen it, but i figured id just ask on here before even checkin (durrrr). Theyre snugged to 32 ft lbs. Thanks for the help guys.
