So today I was pulling up onto the highway and when i changed into 3rd i pulled the car hard and as soon as it got to high rpms the engine made a loud bang and the car shook. I changed into fourth and the car seemed to be driving like normal but i havent pulled on it since to see if it would happen again. What happened. I am guessing that this could be a really bad thing. Any ideas of what happened. By the way I am running stock boost. In addition to that my exhaust has got a very low and bubbly tone the past few weeks. The exhaust is a N1 turbo back thats been on there for 3 years. Miles on the car are 90k

Also out of nowhere my Anti Lock light came up on my dash yesterday. I recently had my whole front end replaced about a month ago...axle cambers the whole 9 yards.

Other than that the only new thing I have installed was a second amp for my interior speakers.

All of my mods are listed in my profile. Thanks in advance

Check to see if an IC pipe blew off. I'd imagine the car would run crappy after it happened though.

I have had an ic pipe blow off and that kind of what it sounded like but everytime i blow a pipe off the car has just shut off. This time after it happened i was able to continue driving the car.

It seems to be driving ok still. If i bent a rod or blew a valve of some sort along that line my car would drive horrible if at all am i right?

i was thinking IC pipe also, have you checked the intake pipe? if its the stock rubber still could have rip'd.

fuel cut maybe?

I have the hard Injen intake. I dunno I will give all my pipes a once over maybe it came lose for a second then popped back in. It seemed to be driving pretty well tonight....

As for the fuel cut i was maybe all my upgraded pipes and intercooler is causing too much air and the fuel can compensate for it.

are you sure it was the engine and not a large pothole, here in good old PA this is the cause of 90 % of noises from our cars. haha
