Ok I need some serious help, I have a 97 GST and as I backed down a hill today as I was leaving with some friends to go do freeway runs, I was reversing with my wheel turned to the right so I could turn around ( i have no power steering any more) and the steering all of the sudden got extremely stiff, stiffer than normal, then a extremely loud bang came from the front of the car, loud enough for the neighbor 2 houses down to run out because he thought I hit something. Im not leaking any fluids. The right CV axle on the passengers side of the car, the boot is completly screwed up, is it possible my CV axle is messed up and need to be replaced? Could it of been caused by actually hooking up while racing a TRD S/C TC last night? Which are some things i should check? How will I be able to tell if a CV axle is broken or not? My car can still drive but im kinda scetched out about driving it and having a wheel fall off or something worse.

Thanks:

Thanks.... Sorry for the lack of knowledge this is the first time I have had to do axle work, but what should I look for? anything that is broken or looks out of place at all? Also I jut pulled it out of the drive way and I can feel slipping, when I pulled forward the car would move normaly then it would lurch like it is slipping and then grab and be normal again......
