lost 3rd gear at the track

took off the line and everything was fine but when it was time to shift into 3rd it went in but all it would let me do is rev up the car. i can be stopped, with the car running and put it into 3rd without pushing in the clutch and it wont do anything. what is it?

That my friend is time for a tranny rebuild.

Just to be sure have a friend shift through all 6 gears (engine off) while you watch the linkages under the hood. Does it go where it is suppose to in 3rd?
