I am asking everones opinion on my blue engine bay that I had powder coat about 1/2 a year ago..I thought it would have turned out better than I thought but my car is green and the blue just doesn seem to be working...what do you guys think and what color should I change it to..Jet Black or Grey/white? I dunno so I am asking for opinions

Nice, very nice EFFORT. But why do people, regardless of the color of their car, choose to purchase and install this shade of blue (a powdery, faded blue) and why do companies make it? There are only like 3 brands that have real deep or electric blue shade of blue colored loom and accessories. Dude, just my .02 but though those blues match eachother but not your car or engine bay. pull it all off imo. That wouldnt even look good on a blue car. Sorry you had to paint you coat your VC in that blue, I know you wish it didnt have to look like that.

I'm not trying to be mean. I swear, It just bugs me.

yea i think it looks pretty nice, jus doesnt match...im not sure what matches with green, other than green, maybe like a silver/grey? Anyway you might want to get a new header, that would make it look a lot cleaner. :thumb:

You could try painting over that baby blue with duplicolor metalcast blue... no base coat... simply use the metalcast as if it were a blue tinted clear coat. it leaves a very attractive deep dark blue that looks very good. several light coats works best, because if you use a few haevier coats the metalcast has a tendancy to crinkle when introduced to one heavy coat on top of another, creating a squiggly marble effect upon drying. but then again it looks pretty cool and may be a look worth trying out. ;)

Definetly keep the blue. But just start adding polished stuff to accent the blue.

Definetely make a Polished cover for the Header as well as if you clean up the hose's to make them look new it'll really brighten up your engine bay.

I've descided to ditch my Yellow to go all Polished look. only cause was easier for me.

I orginally was going to do White/Yellow engine bay alternating as much as I could.
-White Valve Cover
-Yellow Fuel Rail
-White Intake Manifold
-White Throttle Body
-White I/C Piping
-Yellow Silicone Couplers
-White I/C Clamps
-White Intake Pipe
-Yellow Silicone Couplers

But since I already had a Polished VC. When I got my polished Magnus SMI, I really like how they looked so I went Polish, I panted my I/C piping White, only till I save up enought to get polished I/C piping.

Hopefully will look good once everythings finished.

ya the exaust manifold is comming off because I am purchasing a turbo kit here soon so i was just getting started by taking off that annoying heat shield that was cracked..so it really made the engine bay an eye sore because of the rusted look..the blue isn't really all the bright..the flash kinda made it alittle brighter than it actually is when I took this pic...but ya I was thinking more toward white/grey and chrome pieaces..such as chrome fuse box cover and oil cap..etc etc

i had that exact same car and I did yellow...of course most would say it was ricey but heres a picture. looked pretty decent to me.

rice rice rice rice.......paint it black, id look waaay better.

I personally like the blue cause it's the same color of your exterior.

As for the yellow/Chrome engine bay it's very nice. But the yellow mesh in the front of your car looks bad.

I did yellow Mesh on the front of my 95-96 GS-T for about 2 weeks. I absolutely hated it.

everytime I looked at it I thought to myself. Damn that looks like a smokers mouth.

So I went back to White w/Black masquito netting behind it to protect my FMIC.

actually his car is dark green... so it looks bad =p

Here is my engine bay with several of the parts painted with that faded looking ford blue that scirio referred to, and then topped off with a coat of metalcast blue. It really gives depth to the piece being painted, and leaves a really glossy candy finish. Tip: when tou buy a can of metal cast, buy a 99 cent can of generic spray paint and swap the spray tips... the metal cast spray tip has a fan spray nozzle which causes ot to spit drops of paint randomly, but this can be cured bt swapping the tips. :thumb:

I too have a green car and I chose neutral colors for the engine bay and interior- black and gray. Either match the exact green, or do black, gray, maybe white... nothing else will really match well IMO
