loose screws in tranny

well i was about to replace my slave cylinder when i pulled the boot out my tranny these 2 screws fell out. where could they have come from. and i do hear a noise whenever i push the clutch pedal in.

Pressure plate hold-down screws.

Could be the two screws that hold the aluminum backing plate to the block. I've had one come loose on me before. I ended up loctiting them bastards back in for good measure.

if we know what size the head was on those screws we could probably tell you what they are.

If they are 10mm then they are rear main seal housing bolts. Otherwise they are pressure plate bolts. Those are your only real options.

10mm I guarantee it, and since there's only two of them I'll also guarantee it's the two bolts for the metal shield. The only other 10mm bolts in there are the rear main seal housing bolts and they are much longer than those bolts pictured and have a smooth part up near the head of the bolt.

I've had my tranny off of my car over 16 times, I know every bolt by heart in the removal process.

yes they are 10mm bolts. so i guess this means i have to drop my tranny. i need a new clutch anyway. thanks for the help
