Loose black wire

Ok so before i go doing this i wanted to ask you guys

I looked under my dash and right under the floor board light (driver side) there is 2 bolts and the bottom one has the tip as if a ground wire was there and someone just ripped the wire out. so i was looking around and pulled a little black wire (from behind my dash) and what looks like there only 2 silver metal things inside the wire i wanted to know if anyone knows that this wire is? should i just ground it or leave it as it is nothing wrong with my car. i touched it to the ground a couple times and i didn't see anything happen. sorry for grammar and spelling

2 silver metal things? Post a pic. sounds like somebody left behind some scrap wire. If its a ground the best way to tell is to ohm it w a multimeter. It should have very little resistence if any if its grounded if its dead end it should show a large number.
