So I talked to mitsubishi AND just as I thought the heads blown. So I am probably going to pull it and rebuild it instead of redoing the stock internals. Garret do you have a phone number that I can txt to ask you a few questions? I'm hoping to get her running over summer.....Any thoughts?

By all means, any question you have dont hesitate to ask. Once my car is up and running (another month or so) I might be able to give you a hand here or there too if you need.

no manually it wont shift, I dont even have my cables on anymore... Shifted perfectly before i put it in... opened the fifth gear cover and everything looks fine in there. havent had any gear oil since i bought it..
 
Well, to start these transmissions are regularly hard to shift into reverse, thats not a concern. There are little tricks to help it along. And you might have a stuck shift rail. My car once was stuck in second, all it took was alot of force and it eventually poped out (for the record this was 5 minutes after I started it for the first time 2 springs ago).

change the gear oil with Redline MTL and MT90 (MTl 2 litres, the rest MT90)
 
my car's not drivable and i don't want to put it all back together just to find out i have to drop the transmission once again. Trust me there's something outta place or something wrong here, you'd have to hear and see it garrett.
 
Well, if you think something is really wrong then you need to crack it open and take a complete look.
 
Ahahahaha:hellyeah:, SO! turns out when I took out the reverse switch after i broke it and replaced it with the new one, i forgot to put a space between the transmission and the switch and that was blocking my shaft! mwahaha unbeatable!
 
Does dean run BPR7ES plugs too?

Sure do so far. It is still a daily driver and 8's foul really easy. 8's are okay in a race only car and extreme boost. Last year I was up to 30 psi without fail, but we will see what happens this year as I go past that mark. Stay with 6's until you are pushing high teens in boost.

This thread sound like a typical DSM one. Spring is here and no one has their car ready to go. Hopefully we all get things together in the next few months. I hope you all can make it to the track this year. Garret and I wouldn't mind seeing some other dsm's out there for a change.

Haha its almost sad isn't it... On a side note my order still hasn't even been shipped yet Dean... so by the looks of it I might not be running till june unless I put in a few very long days/nights when I get my parts in (Maybe I can con you into giving me a hand on some of these days haha). I am growing really anxious seeing all the cars starting to come out.
 
My arp head studs came in yesterday, and they were less than $15 to ship them air from niagra falls. Ground would be around $5 haha.
 
Im not sure, I gave them the studs this morning. I don't really see them being done it today, but hopefully at the beginning of next week
 
Tough to say, it only took me about 6 hours to get it back together and I am no mechanic haha. Might be done, but probably best not to get your hopes up I suppose.
 
yay! I'm a proven member! Oh hey Garret you said something about tranny fluid where do i buy those two products!? are they available from napa. Oh and if you need a hand I'm near completion so I'd love to lend a hand!



EDIT: Actually what oil should i put in everything. I need my diff.filled(because it hasnt been changed in a while! My new transfercase and transmission. oh and of coarse my motor!
 
hey guys..... i was thinking here why dont we just schedule our SASK dsm Meet as soon as Garret feels that his car is actually driveable LOL.....not to place any more pressure on you garret
 
Lmao, that woulda been classic. Anyway got my car running and turns out i have to take off my Tcase because theres a leak :S again! secondly i have have a really violent idle surge! so a couple more weeks I'm guessing!
